Slow Worm

My name is Richard. I make electronic, acoustic, crumpled music using samples, guitars, things to hit, and a computer. Each attempt at recording something is a step towards something better. Everything here is a rough draft not a finished version.

I use the computer to hack out the ideas and beat them into shape. I am not a natural musician so everything I do is the result of a lot of careful slight of hand using the computer to redistribute ideas. The songs that I have written are scraps of ideas. I want to show the whole process is from the start until the point I say that’s enough and give up on a song or call it finished.

I want to record music that sounds like something else but at the same time sounds like all my favourite music. I want to record something that gets a bit of mainstream mixed with a god-awful noise. God-awful noise that has some kind of musical logic to it. It’s not as easy as it looks to get even this far.

I am currently trying to get people together to play some of my music live. Please send me an e-mail if you have anything to say about that you’ve heard. I would be really grateful to have people drop in and say ‘hi’. Slowworm e-mail.
